Future Leaders Outreach Network (FLON), founded in 1996 and incorporated in 1999 headquarters is located in Kansas City, MO. The non-profit organization expanded to Arlington, TX October 5, 2015 is a community and faith-based capacity-building organization.

MISSION
STATEMENT

To provide adolescents and adults with skills that empower them to set goals, become effective leaders, pursue economic well-being and make healthy choices.

As a result of the youth and family programs implemented that reported statistically significant outcomes, the Pursue Your Dreams (PYD) Initiative program model was published in the 2011 American Journal Health Studies (AJHS)

Over 375,000 Young People, Parents and Caring Adults Have Participated in Various Pursuing MY Dreams Programs

FLON has provided young people between the ages of 10 – 28, Positive Youth Development (PYD) that includes post-secondary planning, youth risk behavior prevention, personal responsibility and other positive alternative educational opportunities since 1999. Additionally, FLON provides parent empowerment educational programs for parents and other caring adults.


Of the 375,000 people served, the following is the total number of participants that attended and completed various programs and events in thirteen (13) targeted communities of eight (8) states.


Post-Secondary Planning Education and Youth Risk Behavior Prevention Education: 250,850

ADDING VALUE TO YOUNG PEOPLE and CARING ADULTS FOR 19 YEARS


FLON has a 19-year history of serving youth at risk of engaging in risk behaviors (i.e., drugs, alcohol, violence, bullying and premature sexual activity, post-secondary planning education (i.e., Career planning, job readiness, True Colors™, leadership and entrepreneurship development) and parent and caring adult education that is developed to add value to one’s life purpose.


Trained facilitators and subject matter experts teach age-appropriate evidenced based and supplemental curriculum’s in the school; community and faith-based settings. At the community-based level, young people and adults attend the community rallies and annual leadership summit that is promoted as EduTainment (i.e., Educational and Performing Arts).



PROVISIONS FOR THE VISION: Funded by Local, City, Corporations, Foundations and Federal Government


FLON has been awarded $12,300,000.00 since 1999 to implement the Pursue Your Dreams program modules. In 2015, the name of the program was changed to Pursue Your Dreams EAGLE Club Project. EAGLE is an acronym for Emerging and Aspiring Global Leaders and Entrepreneurs.


Competitive Personal Responsibility Education Program (C-PREP)

Dallas Fort Worth Metro-Plex: Tarrant and Dallas County:


Future Leaders Outreach Network (FLON) was awarded by Family Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) to implement in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, the Competitive Personal Responsibility Education Program (C-PREP).


Middle and high school students are taught Project A.I.M. (Adult Identity Mentoring), Choosing The Best and FLON’s My Journey: The Rites of Passage for Responsible Adulthood.


FLON teaches adolescents to pursue their dreams by setting behavioral boundaries from drugs, alcohol, violence, and all sexual activity. Parent education workshops and other activities are provided for parents, caregivers and other stakeholders.


We build the capacity of youth to make healthy decisions and to be self-sufficient by providing them evidence-based curriculum education.


To address the social and emotional well-being of the targeted teens, in our targeted communities, FLON has developed the programs utilizing the framework of the 40-developmental assets of Search Institute®.


The Pursue MY Dreams EAGLE Club Project evidence-based curriculum’s, FLON’s post-secondary planning curricula and other supplemental materials.
